"The realest person in the room wins"

How to future proof your personal brand in an AI-driven world

Everything is changing. AI is flooding our feeds. Scrolling might disappear. Content will be auto-generated.

And personal branding? It might not look anything like it does today.

So, how do you make sure you don’t disappear into the noise? Here’s what I think:

1. Reputation > Content

AI can write posts, comment on your behalf, and even craft the “perfect” LinkedIn profile.

What it can’t do?

✔️ Build real relationships.

✔️ Make people remember you.

✔️ Give you a seat at the table in actual conversations.

Your reputation will matter more than your content. Be someone people talk about outside of LinkedIn.

2. Show up in ways AI can’t

AI-generated posts are already flooding the feed. And let’s be honest - they all sound the same to me.

Want to stand out? Try:

✔️ Video

✔️ Speaking engagements

✔️ Live interactions

When everything else is auto generated, the realest person in the room wins.

3. Stop sharing facts, start telling stories

AI can summarize industry trends. It can even copy someone’s writing style.

But it can’t BE you.

Your messy career pivots, failures, wins, weird obsessions - that’s the stuff that makes people connect with you.

Don’t be the person who just posts “10 tips for x.” Be the person who tells a story that makes people feel something.

4. Build your network before you need it

If LinkedIn dies tomorrow (or turns into an AI-generated echo chamber), who’s going to open doors for you? I'll tell you who:

The people who already trust you. The connections you built when you didn’t need anything.

So stop treating networking like a “when I have time” thing. The future belongs to people with real relationships, not just optimized content.

5. Use AI, but don’t be AI

AI will make personal branding easier - but also way less personal.

So yes, use AI to:

✔️ Save time

✔️ Improve your ideas

✔️ Help with research

But if your entire brand is AI-generated, what’s left of you?

So, what now?

AI will make the boring parts of branding disappear. What’s left?

💡 Your ideas.

🎤 Your voice.

🤝 Your real connections.

The internet will change. Platforms will evolve. But one thing will always matter: People trust people.

So as we head into a new era of AI-driven everything, ask yourself:

Am I just building an online presence, or am I building a reputation that lasts?
